You'd have to be one your cellphone 24 hours a day, everyday, for 70 years to have even a slight problem.

there has never been a correlation between cell phones and cancer
that's all just a myth
www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/cellphones
"(...) To date there is no evidence from studies of cells, animals, or humans that radiofrequency energy can cause cancer.

It is generally accepted that damage to DNA is necessary for cancer to develop. However, radiofrequency energy, unlike ionizing radiation, does not cause DNA damage in cells..."

To cause mutations you need to change the base pairs in a strand of dna. Their have in fact been studies looking at whether it is possible for radio waves to even affect something at that level due to the their lower frequency. If those studies are right they will destroy any case for mobile phones and cancer

Implying regular phones don't work with electromagnetic waves.

I'm a child? Listen you old fart, if you've seen one of those things in person you'd know that you could fit 20 iphones in the space of that thing. The volume of radiofrequency energy given off for a single call would be ten times that given off by any modern phone today. Yeah, modern cellphones give off a miniscule amount of the same energy but I'd rather take my chances with a small dose then being blasted with it

Surely then your microwave would fry you if you went near it if size and energy consumption are a measure of deadliness

all microwave ovens are lethal if you're exposed to the electromagnetic radiation... theres no debate about that.

I meant just being in proximity. The purpose of a phone is just to send a signal, not cook the inside of your head, and I am the background radiation of everyday life is FAR greater than that of a phone.

Implying playing in an atomic bomb crater is the same thing as smelting due to similar concepts of ionizing radiation.
