i wish that was a dinosaur leg though... would be pretty cool cloning it

well it would still be cool even to have an upland Moa to clone

I heard they could extract dinosaur DNA from the blood in musquitos preserved in amber

Guys in Jurassic Park did the same, and look at what happened. ******* mess.

Nope. It would get contaminated within 100,000 years. Fossilization does not preserve DNA.

It's not a fossil. It's amber. And amber preserves DNA, which can be cloned.

Haven't you ever played Pokemon?

fossilization refers specifically to rock formation over your corpse, meaning you have an outline over sedementary rock.

Ambering is not fossilization and no it wouldnt get contaminated, we have regerminated bacteria spores that were 40 million years old and have successfully cloned them.

You're an idiot.

You can not clone an entire dinosaur with a bit of contaminated dinosaur blood over 65 million years old. Also, I was using the term "fossilization " colloquially. There were probably modern contaminants in those spores, no one can be sure that they were actually 40 million years old no matter how carefully you run the experiment.

It was bacteria spores found inside a bee's stomach that had been ambered, there was no contamination because the bacteria doesn't exist any more.

Until they used frog DNA to fill in the missing parts and they started reproducing and killing everyone. Then again, a dinosaur apocalypse would be almost as cool as a zombie apocalypse.

dinosaurs would have have a certain instinct which tells them to back ab when seeing fire. i think zombies would be much worse because they can infect other people and don't back up from anything. but imagine mounting a dinosaur.... coolest. ******* .thing.ever!
User avatar #45 to #6 - hydraetis (01/13/2013) [-]
But dinosaurs could also bust the **** out of buildings so it would be harder to find a good place to hunker down.

zombies can crawl and go through doors. you'd have enough time to escape from dinosaurs while they try to destroy a building.
User avatar #74 to #71 - hydraetis (01/13/2013) [-]
That would depend on the type and number of dinosaurs, as well as the type of zombie. If we're talkin Left 4 Dead zombies we would be utterly ****** no matter what. If we were talking Deadrising zombies, survival would be a jolly walk on a sunny day through the park.

by "mounting a dinosaur" are you trying to say you wanna rape it
