The USA leads total crimes at 11,877,218 per year compared to the UK's 6,523,706 per year. Turkey leads i murders at 184.053 per 1 million people. In 2008, Lesotho lead in rape at 0.844 per 1,000 people.

Given the comparative sizes of the US and UK your first correction is not as important as you think it is. Crimes per however many people is a much better indicator. Given that there are slightly more than 5 times as many people in the US than the UK more total crimes is to be expected. I'm not claiming that the numbers in the post are accurate, just that your total crimes number is fairly irrelevant.
