Jeez i only sided with the imperials because before picked a side i went to each HQ. And i went to Windhelm and was all like "Da fuck." Like seriously, I hate Dark Elves(Because of Oblivion) But shit, they live in filth and if they leave the grey quarter they get nasty remarks and dirty looks. That and I heard a Nord wanted to dig a pit and round the Dark Elves and the Argonians up and throw them in and let them kill each other... The Hell... Argonians are like super kick ass, all these Nords are fucking racist as well, hell i was playing as a Breton and they treated me like crap.
Than I go to Solitude, walked in on a guy getting beheaded for letting Ulfric leave Solitude. At this point i totally agree with it(even though the guy sounded nice.) The people were nice and all i hear is "Why don't those Stormcloaks get that the empire is keeping Skyrim safe from Elven rule." Which after visiting the Embassy made me get why that statement was true....
So i had like 0% motivation to ever help Ulfric because he and his people are all bigots to the other races and only want a SUPREME NORD MASTER RACE to live in Skyrim. Hell when i killed Ulfric and the new Jarl was appointed, he was pretty sweet, only the nords were bitching.

hidin (01/12/2013) [-] At least Ulfric gave them a place to stay. Especially since the Red Mt. erupted and fucked even more of Morrowind up. To be honest neither of the groups are racist (except for the obvious few) but the Thalmor are by far the most rascist. "The thought of a mere man ascending to a God-Like status is preposterous" and the whole "We of the Mer are, at birth, more powerful then mere men." When i heard this shit i didnt care about what General Tullias or Emperor Titus Mede II cared. I wanted them out. And when you think about it hard enough, its exactly like Muslims and Christians/Catholics in the Crusades (OMG OBVIOUS) or the war between the scottish vs the british. (nords being scottish in this case and thalmor/empire british. the whole "skyrim is part of the empire" thing pissed me off). Granted Ulfric only cares about his power on the inside hes doing a better job than the empire. Fuck, Avenicci even once said "Those barrels of gold didnt hurt though"

The reason I sided with the Stormcloaks is because right from the start of the game the Imperials KNEW I had done no wrongs that they can think of but they still put my head on the chopping block which shows that they are an undisciplined military and all the Imperials I met only wish to line their pockets and give themselves more influence, they were even cowardly enough to stop a whole religion just because the Thalmor didn't like it. So what if the Thalmor were stronger you don't back down just because your opponents weapon is bigger. The Stormcloaks are a strong, hardy race that stands up in the face of adversity and doesn't back down just because somebody might no like their decisions, they protect their own and help their people when necessary and yes they do believe their race is the best but think about this, America looks down on Mexicans, know why? (Because plenty of them don't help for shit and feed off the government). The Stormcloaks just want to stay independent and if the Imperials would just have backed off and let Skyrim handle its own affairs the whole war could have been avoided.

hattaz (01/12/2013) [-] Only reason they were going to behead you was because of Ulfric, if he wasn't there they most likely would've just thrown you in jail where you could get out eventually. And ya the Thalmor are assholes but hey if the Stormcloaks are so hardy and determined, why did the empire nearly lose the war that caused all of this bull crap. Just think if the empire left, what would stop the dominion from coming in and waging war on the weakened country and taking it for their own?

AngryRedMidget (01/12/2013) [-] The quest data doesn't require you to posses the crown, only to have picked it up, and since Ralof hands you a quest item at one point, he's one of 4 dudes that can have them in their inventory. Pickpocket it onto him, and even if he sees you, it's irrelevant. Then next time you see him, it should still be in his inventory.

thejerseyjenn (01/11/2013) [-] I immediately sided with the stormcloaks because someone went up to me and was all "don't worship talos" and I was all "fuck you bitch I do what I want" So I went to windhelm and talked to Ulfric and his voice was like a thousand angels licking my ears.
But then... poor Balgruuf. He was one of the best characters in the game, and he was so disappointed at me. At that moment I started liking the stormcloaks less and less. I didn't mind the racism because I hate dark elves but Ulfric didn't really care about the nords. He cared only for himself. I now wish I joined the legion.

Originally I sided with the stormcloaks because the empire was basically the thalmor's bitch now, and I fucking despise those arrogant bastards. Then came the moment when i had to attack whiterun... I immediately regretted the side I took. Balgruuf was a bro.

scottsselfdefense (01/12/2013) [-] i do think about the story line but i dont go so far into it as to tie it in to real life. lol i just do it cuz it makes me happy. im sure theres some sort of underlying theme that ties into real life, but then again im also sure that i love them game for itself. if i wanted to interpret random shit id read a book
