Fuck Console. there's a reason i spent $1500 on my PC and thats so i can play every fucking game on the best graphics possible on one god damn system while i record, upload, download, design, listen to music and all that shit at once.
A first look at the new steambox by Xia
The Piston is designed to be plugged into your high
definition TV set to run Valve' s Steam in big picture
mode. While Valve has not yet revealed the
Piston' s specs yet, it is apparently based on Xia' s XAA
model PC. The XAA has a starting retail price
of , 000 and contains a processor
with integrated graphics, GGB - GGB
of RAM, multiple USB ports, four ports for extra external
storage and more.
Am I the only one who thinks this is retarded?
This thing might be top of the line console,
but it doesn' t compare to most custom ' s.
They don' t think that all PC gamers are just
gonna switch over to console again because this
thing comes out do they? as long as Steam is available
on my PC I will use that to fucking game.

I've always been of the opinion that platform(in this case I'm counting PC) wars are completely pointless every bit as retarded. All it does is breed elitist bullshit, and we have enough of that in the gaming community as is. If you enjoy your chosen platform, go ahead and do as you like, but don't shit on people that don't share your opinion. It doesn't make you a "master race", it makes you a cunt.

It has been confirmed by Gabe Newell that this was not the "steam box". They said that steam will be making their own steam box that will be entierly linux based. They just helped this company out. And who knows, maybe they will use some of the technology from this thing.

Looks too small to be a gaming rig. I thought this was a video streaming device for games. Like that thing I forgot the name of because it failed. Games are run on a server, your input is sent via internet, and the video is streamed to your TV via the box; the box does not process the graphics.
