The US is not necessarily the "most free" nation in the world, but you do have to remember that it was the pioneer of modern liberalism and brought back representative government from ancient Rome. Many things that our country was founded on were taboo in Europe at the time. And because of that, the US both prospered and suffered.
*cue American flag waving in the background*
Whether you'd like to admit it, the US was once the sole bastion of human liberties and freedom. Though this is a very troubled and self-contradictory nation, it has made the world--especially the Western world--what it is today. So you can hate us all you want, and you can thumb me down all you want, but I still have pride for America for what it has been in history and what it is today. *fireworks*
I meant, fuck those fat retards!

>Forced or bought out the Native Americans off their land
>Still now does not have a major party like labour in the UK
>If you look at History Britain not only influenced greatly the political parties you have you are all mostly British
>Britain actually had what can be called a full democracy before America i.e. everyone over a certain age could vote
>Many countries before either had more democracy and rights
>Britain before World War 1 was the leader of democracy into the world
Not only did Britain rule the world We made it what it is.

I don't see how anyone is proud to be a Human at all. Every nation is built upon centuries of blood and bone taken from each other. I mean just look at the armory of the past. Cauldrons built to burn people alive, hanging people upside down and sawing them in half in a way that they don't bleed to death, sending men to slaughter one another for entertainment. Not only that but killing countless people for not following your religion or for standing up for a powerless political party.
and here we are in the present day. Every country has a super weapon pointed at each other that can burn millions of people. We have, in our anger, developed power that we should have never been able to access. Our world now hangs in the balance because these weapons exist. Not only that but we sap the resources of the less fortunate so that the greedy can continue to be greedy. I know Im not perfect about using less but dammit im trying more than most would ever consider.
and now our world is dying. We are running out and we dont seem to care. We have become lost within the abstract concepts of the Economy and have deemed it more important than the ground we stand on. When the soil is poison, the air and water polluted, what are we to use that money for? there will be nothing left.
I don't care how many red thumbs I get, I genuinely don't care. Because the way I see it those who thumb me down are hopeful. Hopeful that we can change. We have the capacity for good. But our world and our past has only seen the capacity for evil that we have demonstrated. Based on our past and our present, I do not see any possible way that someone could be proud to be a human.

Actually The Netherlands had been a republic for almost 200 years before the American Revolution and were the most tolerant people in the world. In fact the puritans who later came to America 1st went to The Netherlands, then the United Provinces, but left because the Dutch were TOO tolerant and had TOO much freedom.
i think that was due to the fact that people wanted to come to america because it was mostly virgin land waiting to be exploited back in the 1700s, with people from all over the world all the great ideas and commerce melted together in one country making it prosper and attracting more people in turn. why didn't that happen with canada, mexico and the rest of the american continent? maybe it's due to who the founders and colonizers were and their ideals.
