actually, wearing a scarf gets us warm because it insulates, and keeps our heat inside, it is not like it actually creates heat, just keep the heat from escaping. now, think of a snow man, they are practically cold, so no there is no heat inside, still, heat can come from the outside, so what the scarf is really doing is shielding the snowman's vital point from the heat.

Doesn't a thickly woven scarf hold air better? And wouldn't the heat of the sun then warm the scarf and therefore the air it holds, making a layer of warm air, which then insulates the snow. And actually, the snow DOES create "heat", since it still holds thermal energy unless it's 0 degrees Kelvin. The reason we feel it as cold is because it's temperature is significantly lower than our skin's. Therefore, the scarf DOES make it warmer.
