I realize its a joke, I was referring to all the comments and stabs at canadian stereotypes, believe it or not, I hardly see people making jokes about americans without the latter instigating it.

you're right, maybe I should've worded that a little bit better..

from my personal experiences, I find that americans can be rude and ignorant to the world outside of the USA. Maybe that helps.

Your healthcare isn't "free". It comes out of the pay checks of every working person.
User avatar #79 to #74 - DJKitty (01/10/2013) [-]
It's considered free because you don't have to pay 20,000$ for every surgery and shtuff, but instead like 10 bucks off your weekly pay, depending on your tax bracket.
So yea you pay like 1000$ a year roughly for healthcare that won't bankrupt you.
Unlike America.

User avatar #91 to #85 - DJKitty (01/10/2013) [-]
Well you pay a lot of money on beer, to risk your life by drinking in more ways than one, and have to pay money out of your pocket for the accidents you encounter, instead of pretty much 1/10,000 of the cost.
I nearly died one time.
I was hit by a car, broke my ribs, puncture my lung, lacerated my spleen, broke my femur, dislocated my shoulder, and broke my foot.
I would've gone bankrupt if I didn;t have medicare.

Americans are stupid, they think they were the only one in the allied forces, The allies were not america, the allies were Few from the south america, and yes, canada, and others in europe. I'm pretty sure that the numbers of soldiers that helped USA were greater than the numbers of americans soldiers. Now **** off with your **** that Canada doesn't have any military. Currently Canada is in a feud with the EU, Russia and The United States over the ownership of the land north of our countries. There is a gap between all the islands that is large enough to be considered out of the country. Since the Ice is melting there is an opportunity to use this passage for trade via ships as it is a very large passage. Also the vast amount of possible resources in the Arctic Circle is enormous and they all want a piece of it. Canada can not send any military ships up there to patrol as they cannot break the ice so they have a group of Inuit volunteers called the Rangers who patrol on snow mobiles and are armed with single shot WW1 rifles. Also there is a world court thing between Russia and Canada about ownership of the Arctic Circle this year.

TL;DR: Canada is fighting for the northern islands considered part of the country

I are Canadian and this is what we learn about
#70 to #48 - anonymous (01/10/2013) [-]
Let's face it, when it comes to us (in America) our government can be pretty selfish, you can't deny that. The Russians, well, they're the world's Oil Overlord (besides the Middle Eastern Empire of Oil, in our terms, OPEC) I like the Russians, but, you can't deny, they can be more selfish than America at times. And really, it shouldn't be the EU, mostly Denmark maybe, since Greenland (Danish Colony, for those who don't know) is right there. We just gotta let this take it's course.

TL;DR Russia, America, and Denmark can be pretty selfish bastards at times.

german word, but as far as i know its what they called the canadians storming the beaches.
User avatar #67 to #43 - Ferscot (01/10/2013) [-]
Actually, it started out in World War 1. The Canadian Forces at the time mainly fought as a part of the British Forces, but whenever Canadians were sent out on a mission they were mostly victorious. Thanks to Vimy Ridge and a few other key victories we were successful enough that other countries acknowledged us as a true military force. The Germans named us "Storm Troopers", because once we moved into battle we were as ferocious and unstoppable as a storm.

Canada's military was active in every theatre of war, though most battles occurred in Italy,[4] Northern Europe,[5] and the North Atlantic.
Over the course of the war, 1.1 million Canadians served in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Of these more than 45,000 lost their lives and another 54,000 were wounded.[6] The financial cost was $21,786,077,519.13, between the 1939 and 1950 fiscal years.[7] By the end of the War, Canada had the world's fourth largest air force,[8] and third largest navy.[9] As well, the Canadian Merchant Navy completed over 25,000 voyages across the Atlantic.[10] Canadians also served in the militaries of various Allied countries.
By D-Day, June 6, 1944, the landings at Normandy were accomplished by two beachheads made by the American forces at Omaha and Utah, two by British forces, Sword and Gold, and a final one at Juno made by the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.

You forgot that Canada had the 4th largest air force and 3rd largest naval fleet, saying that most of the world powers had just had their armed forces decimated so it takes a bit of a shine off it. Still at one point in time, Canada had a bronze medal.

I know the Corps isn't the end all be all military power. I'm not positive we could even take the Army large scale to be perfectly honest. I'm in the USMC... we get paid jack **** , and get some of the ********* gear around at times, but it's my job to make fun of the Army, and be proud of the Corps.

I'd take the original MOWAG, or a Bradley over the LAV, it's just a personal observation I made, I think the LAV 25 is a piece of **** compared to the Bradleys, and almost as sitting in the amtracks. I have nothing but respect for the Canadian military, and if I hadn't moved I would of been in the Canadian military. I'm not sure why you're so hostile, I never said that the USMC should have better gear than Canadians. And technically, the LAV truly originated from Switzerland, it's a Piranha series vehicle.
