The first time I played it all the way through was just a few years ago. I ran up those ******* stairs for 15 minutes. I stopped, and said to myself, "If I turn around, and the bottom is just below me, I'll ******* rage." You can guess what happened next.
inb4: Why'd you only play it the first time a few years ago?
I did that because I never owned a N64 before 7th grade, and I had only played it at a friend's house.

Luigi ends up being the one who kidnaps her and at the end of the game you realize it was all an elaborate game that they set up to let Bowser know exactly what he has been doing to Mario all these years.

Then Bowser gets beat up by Luigi.

I think that happened if I remember this game correctly - you played half the game as Bowser and half the game as Mario and Luigi. I don't think Bowsers goal was to save the princess, rather only to take down the guy who was trying to control the Mushroom Kingdom, but close enough...

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door had something a little like that. You play as Bowser for a couple segments. But a whole game as Bowser, that would be awesome.
