I saw a post like that on FB, and I continued to comment the ways one can hack someones accounts (phishing, keystroke logger, etc.) and how they are used and people were like "OMG FAGGOT, NO ONE CARES, WE KNOW HOW TO HACK AND YOU DON'T. GET OVER IT.". I was filled with so much rage, I just laid in bed all day.

Guys, so spread this around. When people want to learn to hack. Tell them that can't learn it. They accidently discover it, by finding flaws in programs that they create

<- Send them this, I really want to know how many people would fall for it. (But saying that thats how you start hacking.

That is a definition of a "cracker" OP. I'm not claiming to be a hacker, nor a cracker, but a hacker is a enthusiast with excellent computer programming skills that is capable of altering or modifying existing programs. Most hackers are very decent people, who actually get paid relatively good money for helping other programmers with their software by either
A) Finding the backdoors or holes in it, and patching them up
B) Updating their security or firewall of said program, or server, or whatever, with their very OWN firewall.

Me and my sister had the longest arguement about this and she proved me wrong and proved doing that is hacking...Please someone give me the words I can use to prove her wrong cause I showed her this post and now believes firmly that typing that status is hacking... or you can kill her, whichever is easier.

Also, would the 3rd one be technically called phishing? I'm not entirely sure if it even classifies as that, but I could never really define it.
User avatar #23 to #14 - aahrg (01/08/2013) [-]
no, phishing is attempting to fake an email or website in order to get someone to send them personal information (login details, credit card, etc.)

well i mean, 'hacking' facebook accounts started with hackers actually joking around about hacking into accounts... now it has led to that being a universal term for doing it.

Hacker - A term script kiddies use to make themselves Internet tough guys.

Crackers - What most people know as Hackers
Hackers - People who find small 'issues' in code, and exploit them for their own benefit

Crackers are just a subset of Hackers who use their knowledge illegally, destructively, or just 'evilly' for lack of a better term.
#22 - anonymous (01/08/2013) [-]
Media misunderstood the term "Hacker" and spread it to mean breaking into systems back in the 90's...Correct term is "Cracker"... that is all
