Just a tidbit for those who do not know. If you see a scorpion with large pincers, he's cool to play with, albeit if you don't mind minor stings. See that thin pincered one over there? Run. Run far, far away. That fucker will wreck you.

I just plan to sprint away from anything even resembling a scorpion...

Basically, the bigger the scorpion, the better. Those tiny fuckers are the real bad shit.

Mmm, not necessarily. There are large, incredibly venomous ones, and the poor little nature's reject, tiny and less toxic.

Which do emperor scorpions fall under? I think they're one of the big fuckers with piss water for venom but I'm not quite sure.

They aren't very poisonous. They can be painful, but not dangerous. And the fact that they can rip into and hold onto you is far worse than their poisons.

ive been stung by emperor scorpions, you might get mildly sick but that's about it unless you are allergic. they mostly just hurt because the stinger is big

It's because the larger pincers are needed to hold prey that isn't killed by their weaker poisons. The thin ones really don't need their pincers for more than a quick and lethal jab.

That makes sense, if i ever see a scorpion (unlikely as i live in iowa) i will remember this.

If you travel to New Mexico, Nevada, etc, it's good knowledge to have. Also, place footwear upside down in those areas to avoid scorpions crawling into them.

I like spreading knowledge. It's so sad to see people embracing things like YOLO(which isn't a bad phrase if used right, but nobody uses it right) and swag, instead of learning more about this truly remarkable world they live in.

Wish I had the "The More You Know" image...
