Why is everyone assuming it was the wife/girlfriend?

It could very well have been the husband/boyfriend. They're probably more prone to do something like that anyway.

Yes, but the handwriting and the fact that they drew a smiley face indicates it was very likely a woman.

Actually girls normally seem far more prone to messing shit up like this.

The "H" on the board has a 'U' curve to it, the exclamation mark is a circle instead of a dot and there's a sad face on the board as well. This either implies this person is a female or a male with really girly handwriting.

Only a woman or a child(but it says "honey" so we can assume they are in a relationship) would just leave their problem for the "man of the house" to fix.

I'm gonna answer like any 12 year old kid would answer, my friend...
'CUZ WOMENS BELONG IN TEH KITCHEN LULZ HURRR DURRR
And because if it was not a woman, then it's a canadian, hence the "sorry".
But my theory is that it was a woman because, as a man thinks, he wouldn't have left it there, you know, a man repairs things when he screws up... Generally... But meh, who cares? Just laugh at the post :D
TL;DR: I'm bored...

My husband have done that, he ruined our stove completly cause he didnt smell it burning either. He noticed because the cat started screaming. I, myself, have never done anything like that.

That's some pretty girly handwriting, but that's also just my opinion.

I feel like there's men with girly handwriting that took all of this WAY too personally.
