Consider this, guys. For some reason, terrible reality shows make more ratings than actually good music videos. More ratings = More money. Not only that. MTV stopped playing music because of Youtube's VEVO. They don't wanna waste money on videos that people watch for free on Youtube. I honestly don't understand why people complain about MTV anymore. If you have an internet connection, you probably have Youtube. Youtube is the gateway to anything music, which makes MTV irrelevant in today's times.

That's true, but I found some of the bands I enjoy now by watching MTV. I'll admit I probably wouldn't watch it now though.

But other channels such as Kerrang!, Scuzz, Viva, Starz etc. all still show music and make a fair bit of money.

in germany all music videos on youtube are banned because GEMA (a german organisation that has something to do with music) wanted youtube to pay them for the right to show music videos

They could just disban the MTV corp. and give it a new name along with their new shitty shows.

Youtube's music scene would be way better without VEVO. Just throwin that out there. Everything you said makes sense btw.

But it's not "Music Television" anymore. It'd be like changing all the ingredients in my favorite food to dog piss on caviar and still calling it mac n cheese

You have a good point, MTV might want to consider a name change at this point though.
