State NRA competitions. I shoot off of a sling. With Palma sights.
But the 6.5/.284 is for hunting.

That's a military rifle though, right? Can you just hunt with anything?

not the 6.5/.284 It's custom rounds, you can't even buy pre-loaded rounds. You have to reload your own ammo for it and brass is like $1 a cartridge. It's .308 brass necked down to a .223 bullet. Giving it that extra kick you need while watching over large fields hunting.

I honestly don't know the difference. All I know is that when you pull the trigger, it goes bang. Beyond that, guns are a mystery to me.

I've been forced to love them. My grandfather 2 years ago in an international competition was ranked ~60th out of 100s of thousands. So needless to say he's pretty good, and lives next door to me so i'm with him a lot. I remember we went out to his range on his land one day. He loads the guns into the back of his truck and drives down the range to the yard line bench he wants. And the day after he drove me to school with 2 M16s and a .308 caliber rifle in the back of his truck still. I almost got arrested because some kids saw it and reported me.

I think you might need a higher Caliber.

I wish ammo for my Webley was $0.50 apiece(further down the thread). Last box I picked up for it cost $36.99

probably got you beat with my Enfield...I'd post a pic but she's in the shop right now. Last time I bought ammo it was $1.50 a round. I'm just a total sucker for the oddballs.

damn. But the .338 Lapua rounds have us both beat at about $6 per round

Thank god I don't have one of those. I hear tell someone made an AR platform in that caliber....I'd shudder to think the cost to have a day at the range with one of those.
