There was only a few problems with the monster tanks.

They would destroy any road and sink any bridge they went over.

They would be impossible to remove if first stuck.

And not to mention that they would move at maximum 25 kilometers per hour. impossible in any modern war.

well the Russians were planning a similar tank but one slightly more plasable it basically consisted of 3 kv-2 tanks tethered together and in theory could be somewhat useable

But with its overly huge size wouldnt bridges and roads be meaningless? I mean it'd be like moving a Titanic with wheels around, taking out that its 'wheels' are flexible and would be going around, over and about holes and lakes like its nothing. Or would that not work?

They did not scrap them, they were only built 2 prototypes, 1 of them including a barrel. It was rater the lack of time which prevented their use.

no prototype of these tanks were built, you ar etalking about Maus, they made two hulls, one with turret. Those 1000 ton+ tanks were only blueprints

actually, the turret for the ratte was built, but the rest of it was not. it ended up being used in a coastal defense position as artillery
