Pokemon wise, the first was my favourite generation, but the game wasn't the best game. I enjoyed Gold/Silver because it had two regions, I thought the remakes were better than the original.
I found some of the later Pokemon to be outright ridiculous (an ice cream cone is pushing it a bit) and some just seemed like they were an old Pokemon changed a bit, but some of them I thought were good.
