It's because it's became the new "cool" thing to be a dick to anyone who doesn't have perfect grammar.
Since on the internet being a smart ass douche is what's cool.

I especially hate it when they completely ignore your point and contribute absolutely nothing to the argument or conversation but a single grammar correction.
