Wait, who uses a point instead of a comma in numbers? We sure don't in the UK, a point is just wrong plain and simple unless you're expressing a decimal.

Amerifag here. Preparing for red thumbs, but here is my reasoning. When you stop a sentence full halt, you put a period. Like that. But when you want to continue a sentence, you put a comma, like that. So when you express a number, do you put full stops between each set of three? And when you are going to express partials, would you not fully stop the whole numbers?

You put commas between each set of 3. Although I've never heard of partials, it's probably just a different way of saying something but I dunno.

Sorry, by partials I meant decimals, or fractions. I'm kinda tired, and I type more poetically when I'm brain dead...

Oh, well in that case yeah you were right, you stop the whole numbers before expressing the proportion of 1 afterwards.

I'm born and raised in America, I learned this in my spanish class.

In some latin American countries, maybe all use points instead of commas but for decimal numbers they use commas such as 12,7 instead of 12.7
