Blue paint on the explosive means it's a dummy, or training round. It would be nice to see movies get it right. Yellow, means High Explosive, and Brown means that what ever it is can burn the **** out of you if you're too close. Take this AIM-120 AMRAAM for example, yellow band for the warhead, and Brown bands for the rocket motor section. I apologize for the rant but every time I see a movie with blue band ordinance, it irritates me.

For some reason, I feel that the word "literally" doesn't belong there.

I'm conflicted.

No, it belongs there. His name is LITERALLY on the missile. It is physically present on the surface of the explosive device. Usually the expression "-something- has your name on it" is used figuratively. In this case, it is literal.

From a previous comment: "It looks like a mortar do to the stabilizing tail fins, but those are actually more common on a missile. You can also tell that it is a missile because of the shape. Mortars have a pear shape with the bulky end towards the front and a narrow end in the back with stabilizing tail fins. Also mortars work usually with a percussion fuse, meaning it explodes when it hits the ground. Missiles have a timed fuse or a proximity fuse which is meant to explode just above the ground or a short time after penetrating into the ground or through a building. "
