Not even true. In the USA, if you can't afford healthcare, you go to an ER (or,in many areas, a free clinic.) This is very analogous to the lawyers; if you can afford one, you don't take the state-appointed one. In Europe, everyone gets "free" healthcare, but pays insanely high taxes.

We get lawyers for free because our constitution states that every man is given the right to a fair trial. I trial isn't fair if somebody doesn't have a fucking lawyer.

And if you don't have medical insurance and can't afford medical care, you just get sent to the ER.

I'm tired of all this America bashing, it gets old after awhile.

Ok, after seeing a lot of people saying, "LOL JUST GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM, THEY CANT REFUSE YOU NO MATTER WHAT" That is an incredible display of a lack how the ER works in general. First of all their job is to stabilize you so you do not die in the clinic. This is great for things such as car accidents, gunshot wounds, alcohol poisoning, etc. They will NOT give chemotherapy, knee replacement, kidney transplant, treatment for colds and stuff since they will refer you to a specialist who requires money. Second of all THEY DO BILL YOU, its just that when you don't they either have a choice to sue you to get the money or they rack up the prices for other procedures in other parts of the hospital and therefore fuck over actual paying patients. Third of all, unless you are seriously about to die, you WILL wait in a line for your turn to be treated. If you complain of chest pains and call 911, the ambulance will come, give you oxygen and transport you to the emergency room. There you will wait on a gurney for your turn unless you start to have a heart attack or something.

FOURTH OF ALL, OP SHOULD OF CLEARLY KNOWN THIS WOULD HAVE STARTED A SHITSTORM AND SHOULDNT HAVE POSTED THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I love how apperently europeans on this site have decided they are all experts on american policies. It's not that americans don't want free healthcare, its that A) We are in huge debt, and don't want to go into even bigger debt. B) The policy they tried to pass would have made it to where there would have been a penalty to anyone who wanted to go through a privatized healthcare company. C) The kind of healthcare they wanted would have meant that if you were to old, smoked, or had any previous health issues they would have been knocked down on the donor list. Alot of people didn't like the idea that their grandparents wouldn't be able to get a transplant and die because they are too old
