MFW my father is diabetic, he actually keeps his insuline in the fridge. And I'm probably doomed, both in having diabetes in the future, and going to hell.

I'm diabetic and what is this

If someone made a comic about diabetes they probably know what they're talking about, whys everyone saying its a hypo she's having? She could have went into DKA, which is much worse than a hypo, in which case insulin should be injected continuously until an ambulance arrives. It probably is a DKA, because you are beginning to die when you fall in to DKA.

Blood sugar levels rise slowly but can fall down quickly. While it's not healthy you easily survive higher blood sugar. On the other hand, once you go into hypoglycemic shock (which would probably be the case here) you need sugar pretty fast. So he actually did the right thing bringing a soda instead of insulin, which would have killed her.

Or she accidentally ate a peanut and she is deathly allergic? why does it have to be low blood sugar?

ya because allergic people use Insulin as a treatment

how do you know she's not DKA'd? It might not be a severe hypo, it could be a case of being ketotic.

Ah, but if she's unconscious she can't drink the soda and would need a glucagon shot instead. But that's still not insulin so you're correct.

It would be enough to put some dextrose under her tongue and let the body absorb it if you don't have a shot around. This should bring her back to conciousness and then she could drink it.

Also, free advice on how to notice your blood sugar levels are rising:
You'll have to pee more ofthen than normal because the body tries to flush out the sugar. This can easily lead to dehydration with strong headaches as a symtom. If you notice this, go see your doctor as fast as possible since even though high blood sugar doesn't make you faint or kill you instantly, it can lead to brain hemorrhage.

Also, you'll notice the dehydration especially at night. You'll wake up with an incredible thirst. Some people even drink the water ouf of their fishbowls in desperation. If you wake up a lot with a lot of thirst, then it's a clear sign you should see a doctor.

Or more likely ketoacidosis, which is pretty terrible as well.
