Peter Parker is dead in the Ultimate and 616(Main) Universe
In the Ultimate universe peter dies fighting the goblin after a hard lengthy fight with bullet wounds. He died a hero and was remembered as such where he affected New York after it to the point where another would rise bringing in Miles Morales as the new spider-man.
In the 616 universe peter's mind was place into Doc Oct's decaying body while Oct's mind was placed in his. After a huge battle Peter fails to switch back to his body and falls out of a tower and his spine shatters. Peter realizing he is defeated manages to make a psychic link and empathically force his memories onto Oct so that he would understand what it truly means to be Spider-man and take over the mantle properly. People cheered onto the death of Doc Oct not knowing the truth and Oct lives on as Peter Parker now becoming the Superior Spiderman.
Peter in the Marvel universe has ceased existence. One as a hero and the other a villain. What a fucking shame

Image is from ultimate universe where he died ages ago,has since been replaced. He did however die recently in the 616 (read :main universe) when Doc Ock swapped bodies with him after priming Peter's body after using Doc's tech to save New York awhile back, Doc Ock chose until his dying moments to change bodies permanently and Peter died in Otto's body shortly after imparting his memories and experiences to Ock thus imprinting his values onto Spock(spider-man body ock mind). With this knowledge he plans on doing what Peter never could by keeping his main values and being the Superior Spider-Man. Seriously go buy Amazing Spider-Man 699 and 700.
