the guy's happy with who he is, why do people feel the need to make him feel bad about that?

Aha. These types of things are posted in the spagetti threads on /mlp/. I sort of feel sorry for the people in them though, but then again I do not as they make the rest of the brony community look bad.
holy shit, i think a sparrow has more muscle on it's lower legs than this kid
even though i am a brony and i have my fantasies i feel really really sorry for him... then i look in the mirror and say: "dayyym he's alpha"

Why would you subject yourself to that? I'm actually worried that he entertains that these ponies are real.
It's fine in your own mind; it's fine to express it. But it's worrying that he is sincere about their existence...
There's harmless wishful thinking, and then there's delusion.

There's a difference between liking a show made for kids, and being a weird creep about it. Extreme fandoms of anything can be creepy to the extreme, and are not indicative of the casual fans.
For example, I liked Final Fantasy 7 well enough. Didn't get to play it at the time of it's release, and looking at it now the out of combat character models are hilariously stupid looking, but it's still a good game. However, I hate the fans who declare it the best game ever made or will be made, and go weeabo otaku japanomancer on your ass when you try to compare it to a western RPG.
People who are obsessive usually have some outside problem that is making them obsessive, and you'll find them in just about any fandom of merit.
