It's what people like to call a Penis Substitute. Anyone who tries to make a big ruckus about how cool they think they are by owning a big truck, a bunch of gold jewelry, or lots of guns is usually trying to make people ignore the fact that they have a small dick and/or are bad in bed due to the fact that this is very embarrassing.

Most people I know who drive larger vehicles, drive so because they love the space in them and honestly need them for day to day life. The pickup in the picture is an F650, which is an after market, but my friend drives the F350 XL and we have used that thing to pull out a school bus free in winter back in high school. He helps out on cattle-farms where if you don't have a larger truck, you'll often have to go rely on a tractor, plus we used to use it to haul all our racing equipment back when all used to ride quads.
