I agree but in some cases a I prefer a book because it doesn't tell you what it should look like, it gives you some information and lets you paint the picture in your head instead of being shown what everything looks like.

But I don't see how a movie can have "more depth and understanding". Because, as you point out, you don't just "imagine a story, you see it."
In a good movie you get to know the characters, you know what bothers them, what they like and what they want to get done. You know a lot of whats, but you don't know how they react on an emotional level. I like to imagine it.

In a book you often get to know things from a certain point of view. You don't know whether it is true or not, you just know it's what the things the characters want to tell you. This uncertainty is gold. Also, your imagination can tell you things that never could be seen, things that was never even pointed out in the book.

This post is messy. I could go on, but I think I'll just get to my point. I wouldn't say that a book or a movie are on different levels. They are just different, they focus on different things, and their values shouldn't be compared.

But I agree with the important parts of your post, hence the thumb, so I guess this reply is a bit pointless, really.

halo 1 made me into a gamer, i played only halo 1 when it came out, all the time, when halo 2 came out, it was all i played at the time, same for halo 3, but when reach came around, it is what made me leave halo and find other series that were good, and didnt turn to shit, when halo 4 was announce i wasnt excited becuase i knew it would be the same thing that happened with reach, but i decided to give it another shot, and what do you know, i have completely given up on halo 4 because it was way to easy and to boring, but it made me who i am today, and a 100x better person.

although i had played ODST alot at my brothers friends place. Halo 1 turned me into a gamer. I loved the campaign and i played multiplayer for most of the time getting better and better. although i wasn't around in the proper time period and actually started playing 3 years ago when i got it at 13. i the custom edition round to a friends place to copy/paste so we could play together. and he liked it and got halo 2 on pc. which i played the campaign of when i when i went round to his house.
in 2011 i got a 360 and played halo 3 for the first time and i loved it as much as the other two and it was my most played game.
And i got reach, i actually played it before three and i liked it alot.
but it got boring in a years time. as it was the only game other than battlefield that my firend (who is a huge halo fanboy :P) would play with me. sometimes it can be fun and i feel a great mood to play it. but other times it feels like a chore.
Then i Rented halo 4 and i was very flummoxed about what to think .apart from spartan ops, multiplayer felt like i had played it but another game with halo bits chucked in. no idea why they put in classes, yeh, maybe for perks and stuff, but not for weapons. people say that it's more balanced but if i want to use an assault rifle i can't because someone has a better weapon that's why i liked halo, everyone had equal access to stuff. campaign seems to be way to mopy for the franchise, i had never really cared much about cortana other than we have to protect her from the covenant to save earth. the other story's were really good but i just can't feel sorry for a micro supercomputer, felt kind of sad for chief but there you go.
I liked spartan ops alot, great idea, could have come up with a better name imo.

Halo 3 will always be something special to me, but Halo 2 was undeniably an absolutely amazing game.

I've been told to practice both parrying and backstabbing, does parry help at all? I always see backstab videos where it's just two guys running in circles.

Parrying helps if you're trying to break the backstab circle
Backstabbing circles happen often and are annoying with light invaders

I usually smack them the fuck up with my Zweihander
