Gangnam Style is 4 minutes and 13 seconds long. That' s 253 seconds. If you
multiply that by the amount of views it has, that' s 250,& 29, 737, 917 seconds.
60 = 4, 180, 495, 632 minutes
60 = 69, 674, 927 hours
eita = 2, 903, 122 days
365 = 7953. 75 YEARS.
Gangnam Style has been listened to by people for a
longer time than most religions have existed.

WRONG! You got to divide the number of days by 365.25 due to the 29th Feb, so it's just 7948.31 years.

Do your math

Thats depends on your definition on religion.

Christianity has been practiced for ~2000 years. That's 63,113,852,000 seconds. If you multiply that by the number of practitioners ever (approx. 3 billion), and by the total amount of time practiced (conservatively, 1 hour per week for 70 years) that's 5.95 * 10^28 seconds

59,507,675,140,000,000,000,000,000,000...
/60 = 9.92 * 10^26 minutes
/60 = 1.65 * 10^25 hours
/24 = 6.89 * 10^23 days
/365 = 1,886,976,000,000,000,000,000 years
/13,000,000,000,000 = 145,152,000 times the estimated age of the universe

Christianity has been practiced for longer than 145 million universes
Yay math

The time per week might be right but the age is way off. You can't possibly practice religion the 1st couple of years of your life and the average lifespan back in the days was a lot less then 70 years.

It's a pointless debate/calculation anyway.

Christianity has been practiced longer than Christians believe is possible.

About 2 minutes per Bible reading in Catholic Church on Sunday. 1st Reading, 2nd Reading, Psalm, Gospel. 8 minutes per mass, times 600,000,000 Catholics who attend mass every week(out of 1.1billion)= 9132.42 years per weekend! Ooo what a fun argument.

Yeah I was about to say that myself until I saw your comment.
But yeah... Why do people still care about this song?

um ... you know you don't have to see the whole thing to count as a view right?

you could just see the first 2 seconds and close that **** like I did
User avatar #156 to #3 - wiredguy ONLINE (12/22/2012) [-]
But then you get the radio plays, people who have bought it and played it or listened to it in embedded videos.
So it's probably a decent few times more than that number there :/
#162 to #3 - John Cena (12/22/2012) [-]
yea but it also doesnt account for all the times its been played on radio and tv all around the world, not just on youtube
User avatar #117 - advicedude (12/22/2012) [-]
Also if you multiply the number of views by how many people are in the world, and then added by how many planets there are in our solar system, you get another really large ******* number that doesn't mean anything

You know if you do the math on how many people attended any religious ceremonies(im going to use church since i have no idea the names of other religions ceremonies). So yeah if you calculate how many people attend mass, multiply it by how many hours it is since it is longer then 4 min it would trump this number by a lot lol. Cause im guessing since some people go to church every week and then you have the people who go only during easter, then you have that thing where your supposed to go every day during easter, this number would probably be in the hundred million years if not billions since everyone in that church gets their Hour+ counted.
P.S. Never go to church and have never watched Gangdam style

I did a little extended math on this:

Using the updated figures from the video and world population sources, apparently there's 36 seconds of Gangnam Style for every person on Earth.

Not only that, there's 2.4 seconds for every human that has ever lived.
