Yes they can, they can't see it clearly but they can see it faintly just how if the room is dark and we are sleeping its darker and when its bright or the sun is on your face you notice it fairly well.

Patently false. If someone is completely blind, they cannot see colours.

They can't see them well. If you closed your eyes and I shined a red light or green light at your face you would notice the difference between the two colors.

He's right, he just explains it wrong. Blind people's eyes don't work the way ours do. When our eyes see images, they send them through the system to the brain and stuff. For blind people, they can't clearly make out images. But they can see shades. When it's day or night, they can tell the difference outside. They can see the different shades of colors, so everything is either black, or darkish grey. But still a different shade. That's why they need to wear the black sunglasses.

If I gouged out your eyes, you wouldn't see ****. No colors, nothing. If someone is truly blind they won't be able to make out "images" at all, period.
Blind-Unable to see; sightless.
you're describing partial blindness

There's a difference being legally blind and actually blind. Blind people see only darkness. Legally blind people can barely see the outline of things and not really be able to tell the difference between colors. For instance, if that light is green, a legally blind person would only see blurry red and green, due to the background color of the sign. They really wouldn't see ****.

well, some blind people are not 100% blind, so they could see the colours if they were near them. But they would be unable to read the words. My friends brother is like 80% blind or something, and can see colours of things when he's very near, but is unable to tell what the shape actually is
