This is Nathan Phelps. He is the sister to Shirley Phelps, and the son to Fred Phelps. In case you don't know who those two are, they are the main heads of the Westboro Baptist Church. He is a Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender activist, a public speaker on child abuse, and my favourite part of this whole story - he is an atheist. This man is my hero, and he makes me hate Shirley and Fred Phelps just that little bit more. Im not trying to thumbwhore, i just want others to know of this brilliant man, and how it proves that the nicest people can come from even the most hateful bastards on the planet. Just wanted to let OP know that he is a faggot. Why the fuck is your "favourite part" the fact that he's an atheist? I couldn't care less if he was a super-Muslim-Hindu-Pastafarian. What matters here is that despite the disgraceful treatment this man had as a child, he still fights for what he believes in, which is equality for all. Stop trying to make this another "all atheists are awesome" post, since there are members of basically every religion on the planet that campaign for the same thing. /rant

I don't see what being atheist has to do with this, I mean if you're Christian, Catholic, Baptist, Jewish, islamic, or a hindu. You should hate the WBC because of the things they do, not because of their religion.
