Every time a kid does something "cool" (Fundraising) or something regarding some kind of anti-bullying group happens etc, they feel the need to at least mention her. You'd think it would only be occasional that a news station mentions something so petty as those things, but you haven't seen Global.

For example, just the other day, they did an entire story on a bug that can jump on water. Dead fucking serious. Apparently nothing ever happens in B.C.

I don't think people really care about Hostess going out of business, more the less they just like the fact they have a wagon to hop on and feel adequate because they're apart of something that doesn't matter. The media journalists are smart enough to realize people like this exist so they grab ahold of them so the story will go on.

Same with Amanda Todd, The guy that shot up the movie theatre (his name escapes me right now, sorry,) and the recent elementary school shootings in Connecticut. Now, don't get me wrong, the latter two are unfortunate events however people jump up on their highchairs and spouts things out (when 99% of the time they haven't a clue of what they speak of) which gives the media the room to bust the door down and use them to push their own agenda. Which everybody seems to have these days, a damn agenda.

The important stuff, like what you said, people getting bombed and what not over in Palestine/Israel gets overlooked.

it's not the fault of the news outlets necessarily, because obviously outlets are just broadcasting what people want to see.... thus the problem is with people, and how they just don't give a shit about anything important.
