Some of the custom maps for Amnesia are actually pretty scary, the main story isn't too bad though. Slender was scary the first couple times that I played it because I turned off every light in my house and I was playing it at like 3 AM.

Yeah. I've kinda thought of it as like... you're playing the character. You tell him when to jump, or shoot. Reload. Etc etc. You tell him to blink with your own body.

There are some of those points in some games where it does blink for you, like after waking up and such. I actually think those work well, cuz it adds a "groggy" effect.

It's not a movie. Those are the Weeping Angels from the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. (I'm surprised you're unfamiliar with it, actually. There's a very large Doctor Who fan following on FJ. There are posts and references to it everywhere here.)

The Weeping Angels are one of the most popular villians ever created for that show. They are assassins, but as a defense mechanism they freeze into stone the minute any living creature observs them. What's so scary about that, you wonder? A stone can't kill you. But then you turn away. Then you blink. And OH YES IT CAN.

Doctor Who is one of the best tv shows I've ever seen. If you're looking for anything new to watch, I would give it the very highest of recommendations.
