well, my parents have an old desktop, and I finally got my own laptop. its plays games about the same (terribly). I wish I was in a position to buy a better desktop

i'm replacing the white LED strip to something else, they didn't give me the effect i wanted.

At least it's distilled water. The best thing is to buy the liquid so you don't screw all the watercooling components...

ya. I had to buy all new parts and built a pc since my laptop couldnt handle demanding games such as dayz

My pc has a intel core 2 duo, 2 gb or RAM, and a gtx 550 ti. I can run it, sort of.

i have a 3570k i5, 8gb of ram, and a gtx 660ti. It runs amazing when I play games such as far cry 3. If you are looking to buy a new pc, you could build one. If you give me a budget I can get all the parts you need for a max gaming pc for that budget.

I'm perfectly capable of building a machine in budget lol. I can't afford anything more than $70 right now...

That's what I meant. If I could build a pc for $70, I would. But frankly, a decent upgrade is $500 preassembled (generic i5 with 4-8gb ram, little to no video performance) - $1500+ (custom built i7 3770k, 16 gb ram, gtx 660 ti)

My rig only cost me $890 and it runs just as good as a pre built $1200 from bestbuy

Dayz isn't a game.
ArmA 2 is a game.
Dayz is an addon.
People like you are ruining those of us who like ArmA for ArmA.

Yes, but it isn't yet.
ArmA 2 is supposed to be an ultra-realistic military strategy game, not some zombie FPS.
I understand that you have your likes, and your own personal preferences, but you could at LEAST call the damn game ArmA. ArmA 2 is the game, Bohemia Interactive wrote the code, and sells the game. Dayz is a combination of scripts that are put together to be run in the ArmA 2 enviornment. Bohemia Interactive does all this work to make this AMAZING game, and people don't even act like they made it.

TLDR: Bohemia Interactive made ArmA, Dayz is the addon. If you're going to play the game, give them some credit by calling it ArmA 2.

Im not saying that bohemia didnt make arma 2. DayZ I know is an add-on but it is more demanding than arma 2 is. I dont just play dayz, I had arma 2 combined operations way before dayz came out. I didnt play it very often because I had other games. But dayz made arma 2 better so thats why people call it just DayZ because it is the better end of the game. Armory is the only thing fun about arma 2

Dayz is a mod in ArmA. IF the ArmA application is running, then he is playing ArmA.

There is no Dayz without ArmA (currently), so he has to play ArmA to play Dayz. He is playing ArmA to play Dayz. He is playing ArmA. Dayz uses all of the ArmA guns, the ArmA maps, the ArmA players, and the ArmA everything.

Garry's mod is technically a standalone.
You don't need to buy Half Life to play Garry's Mod.
Once Dayz is a standalone, people can say they're playing Dayz.

that's because the program it runs through only allows it to use a maximum of 2, anyway. it's exactly the same with FO:NV and oblivion.

i7 is unnecessary unless you do a lot of high usage computing (video rendering and 3D animation)

yeah, building a pc is hella fun. It's so satisfying to see how fast it can run and know that you built that. I've clocked mine at 4.8 ghz

I've yet to oc mine, waiting on a new HDD and some RAM, its weird cause i have 6gb installed and 3gb is being devoted to hardware, no idea why

I'd have to disagree. You really barely even use the metro style part of the OS if you are a normal PC user. The only thing that's really of use in it is the search tool. All you do is go to the top or bottom right hand corner and move your mouse and you'll be able to search for programs. Other than that, you never really even touch the metro style interface
