I would have to sort of disagree with you on that.
New Vegas was kinda ****. 3 was, at the very least, a little bit more engaging than NV was.

It could have been better, though.

Think of it as FO3, but with a tiny improvements with the animation and a little bit more in depth with some crafting.
Other than that, it was boring and not as engaging as FO3 was.

But, I do have to say, if you didn't take your time with FO3, you will not enjoy the game. You have to actually walk around and discover the hidden stuff and whatnot. That's what made it exciting. In my opinion, at least.

Especially considering it was a Bethesda game.
I wanted "skyrim/morrowind with guns".
Instead it was just "choose which part of the enemy to shoot off".

Every one has there own differences on what they expect and like, for me fallout 3 was one of the best games. I have played through the main story 8 different times. It wasn't much about the game play for me, it was about main story and all of the side story's and if you looked around places there are stores of the past and secret **** oh and i cant forget the fact that i can chose to do what ever i want.

Environment and Atmosphere:
FO3 > NV
Everything else:
FO3 < NV

I personally like New Vegas because I live close to Vegas and it made it more, relatable, I guess is the word? It wasn't as scary though and it didn't give off that 50's atmosphere that FO3 did

Aw cmon, they really didn't try with New Vegas, I felt betrayed all the way through playing it, the amount of glitches, even in the console versions were criminal. The new enemies were the same but with different skins apart from geckos and cazadors and the like. And the side quests were nowhere near as interesting to follow.

Well the story in FO3 was better too but I thinks they improved a lot on the actual game play its self.

Sometimes i feel like only one who like NV and don't like Fallout 3. I played all of Fallouts (even tactics), and Fallout 3 was just... I dont know. Felt so empty. No actually interesting characters. No interesting quests lines. NV was kind of a return to old Fallouts, which i love. And i dont know how about you, but 1st version of Fallout 3 was unplayable, thx to glitches. NV is far better in this. If i should rate, so Fallout 3 - 6,5/10, NV - 9/10.
Oooh, almost forgot to mention it - try to look at DLC. If at anything else, NV owns every other game, Fallout 3 including. Oh, that atmosphere in Dead Money, or Old World Blues... lol
