Couldn't agree more...

Walter Bunning F CNN
C) don' t care if the parents of kids
involved DO give their permission. You keep
your reporters away from those kids. Asking
them to relive the most horrifying experience
of their lives so soon is heartless, shameful
and nothing short of sensationalism. Just
because you can' t get enough information
from adults at the scene is no reason to
hound the kids. In so doing, you are only a
thin line from being as hurtful as the shooter
himself. I find that kind of reporting
unconscionable and appalling.

You know how when someone in your family dies. And you hurt.

You know how it is to think about that event not very long after it happened?

It hurts just as bad, if not even more, once it really sinks in.

And he's not talking about the shooter as 'hurtful' as in 'He'll kill ya' It's what his actions did to affect your life.

Nobody panics when the expected people get killed. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying. If I tell the press that tomorrow a gangbanger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will get blown up, nobody panics. But when I say one little old mayor will die, everyone loses their minds! Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.

That's because "other countries" where they are killed every day, are usually war-torn countries that live in perpetual chaos.
USA is not one of those countries, therefore you would not expect it to happen.
It's much like if you hear about someone being killed because they are gay. You have come to accept that in other countries, it's commonplace due to theocracies, but you don't expect that here in North America because there is a different set f ideals.

That's the worst kind of argument.

I grew up in Serbia, on of mentioned (Other Countries) I also grew up during the times of the Genocides.
Long story short, as a child, I saw some **** man.

So, what, guy? Should the united States ignore genocides, and mad gunmen because African children get blown away every day?

There's a reason why, Intellectually speaking the "West" Is light years ahead of regions like the Middle east, the Balkans, and Africa.

Oh snap! A Serbian defending America's humanitarian actions against an American's accusations that America isn't caring! This is honestly an unexpected twist.

But I agree. We Americans are too critical on our nation, because we simply see what the media points out. And the media loves painting any war America's been in since Vietnam. We aren't seeing what this nation does for other nations, instead we just see shooting and soldiers walking the streets.

You are a good man sir, and I wish you a great life and a grand night/day/whatever time of day it is in your current location.

I Emigrated to America when I was like young-ish. I live in New York, now man.

I consider myself Patriotic, actually. I like America. I like Americanism, and I like Capitalism.

Most of people like this guy, have never lived on the other side, naturally they wouldn't understand. Even now he's glorifying the Russians. Which is a silly thing to do.

Honestly. About the Serb-bosnian & Kosovo Wars. I don't like Chetniks (Ultranationalists) They had what was coming to them (What do you expect, they murdered and raped tens of thousands)

I have a lot of respect for the United States. No European country would have helped us, but America did.

Honestly, I try to be understanding. Like this guy. I totally get why he doesn't see my point, he lives in America (Or the UK) He doesn't understand what it's like to be Six years old and watch his family get butchered by the people that promised to protect you.

About the holocaust.
I'm not referring to the actual holocaust, I'm referring to the support Jewish Refugees received from "Western Countries" I mean ****, it might have been a bad idea, but the United States Even carved out land and made a nation for the jews.

America gained nothing in Kosovo, other than the support of Kosovars and Albanians. Same with Kfor, and the Nato Bombings in Serbia.

Besides. That's just basic economics. Mother Teresa helps people for Utility pay, America helps people for Utility, and Command gain. There's no difference other than the added bonus.

>The Russians helping holocaust Survivors.

As of Right now, America has to worry about it's prior engagements, Iraq, Afghanistan, recent troubles on the mainland, etc.

Don't forget, as much as we want America to save the world and protect everyone, common sense decrees such an idea is null. I understand that. In America, America comes first. When America is all fixed up, then America can worry about Zimbabwae and the like.

I'm probably going to get thumbed down and I'm going to sound like an insensitive asshole, and I know it, but why is this getting so much attention?
I'm not saying what happened isn't terrible, but why this? Why do we pay so much attention to this, and not the other tragedies that happen?

22 Kids were stabbed in China on the same day.
I've heard no news of that reported by anyone. Personally, I feel deserves just as much attention. Not just this of course, but every other atrocity that happens on a daily basis.

Pic unrelated, really had nothing else.

It's the media. If they don't report on the big, local event for the next few weeks, they fear that they will lose viewers because most people would be worried about this.

The kids weren't even the only people murdered in CT that day, but there has been nothing else on the news since (at least in the area).

If I'm not mistaken, this is the worst school shooting in the history of the U.S., so that's a thing. The fact that the victims were mostly 5-7 years old doesn't help either. I think that the age is the biggest factor.

They were stabbed, not killed, i dont think any of them died. And to be honest i care a hell of a lot more about 20 kids being massacred about an hour from where i live than kids being injured on the other side of the world in a socialist country.

Only 13 people died in columbine and look how big of a deal that was. We're not going to hear the last of it for quite some time.

Morgan Freeman's take on what happened Friday:

"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."
