I've given up on the world. What I mean is I'm not worried about controlling this sort of thing anymore. I was always one to think there was a way to stay away from these people, or a way to recognize who these terrible people were.
But now, fuck it. I could be a victim tomorrow. There's too many people in the world that could do this, and there's no way to keep myself safe. Just have to enjoy life, and be thankful my feet have hit the floor yet another day.

In my opinion, it makes the situation worse. Many of my family and friends wouldn't feel comfortable with me having a gun. I'm easily frustrated and over react to things. Plus, I wouldn't trust a stranger with a gun; I don't know what they're going to do with it. I feel like it's unfair for me to make other members of society as uncomfortable as they would make me, so I would never have one anyway.
I still have some hope; I don't feel like my life is in danger, and still often say "What are the odds...", but what I said earlier is just a little terrifying.
