Time for some numbers up in this bitch.

Pop of Austrailia: 22,620,600 divided by 1,768 = 1 in every 12,794 people
Canada: 34,842,779 1 in every 11,254
Italy: 60,626,442 divided by 5,500 = 1 in every 11,022
Great Britain: 62,641,000 1 in every 17,405
France: 65,436,552 divided by 5000 1 in every 13,097
Germany: 81,726,000 1 in every 10,488
Russia: 141,930,000 divided by 28,000 = 1 in every 5,068
U.S. : 311,591,917 1 in every 7,513
India: 1,241,491,960 divided by 160,000 = 1 in every 7,759
China: 1,344,130,000 divided by 250,000 = 1 in every 5,376

While good ol' 'Murica may be pretty far down the list in order of deaths per person, these numbers are very clearly presented in as biased a way as is possible. Furthermore, a clear trend is set, being that as pop goes up, % of deaths by cars goes up as well.

Score a win for the Brits though.

How many cars per person are in that countries?
#37 to #4 - jeffmaster (12/13/2012) [-]
Much better, but while I enjoy youre statistics more you forgot about cars per person (or number of cars on the road)

the U.S. has about 3/4 a car per person totaling somewhere around 233 million cars
Great Britain has about 4/10 a car per person totaling to be somewhere around 25 million cars

i dont really care that much to do more math but it goes to show how skewed statistics really get.

We recently had a talk from the police about dangerous driving in my school (From the UK) because two students, one of whom was my brothers friend died in a car crash in 2007, and the talk was one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen in my life, it shown us what happens when you crash and after and stuff.

I never wanted to see a car again so those numbers are reassuring.

So what you're saying is that Asian people can't drive

Well actually his percentages are correct, just rounded to the nearest whole number and without a zero in front when necessary.
.9% is exactly the same thing as 0,954798% unless you want to be a douche about it.

Even if you work it out statistically taking into account the number of people America has still a higher percentage of car death relative to population than the other countries on that list.

With more people and more car there is always going to be more accidents.
There is more chance of bigger more then one or two car accidents.
There would be more people on the streets and stuff that would have the chance of getting hit by drivers.

Take any place in the world add more people and more cars more people are going to die by car after that.
User avatar #31 to #25 - Faz (12/13/2012) [-]
But you also have to take into account density of population, yes in America you have 300million people but you have these people across a country 37 times the size of the UK but has a population of only 5-6times that of the UK, the densest cities in America have a lot more cars/people than any UK city yes but in just new york there was more than 3 times that of the entire of the UK. Its not as simple as if every country had the same population and cars as America that they would have the same amount of deaths because thats just wrong, the sheer amount of drunk drivers on the roads in America are crazy, drunk drivers in 2009 in America killed 10,000 people while in the UK (one of the drunkest countries in the world since over 90% of men and 86% of women are drinkers compared to the 60% of Americans) there was only 400 casualties. We have lots of things in place to stop drunk drivers...America just doesn't.

Canada population = 34 million
Great Britain population = 60 million
German population = 81 million
United States population = 314 million
There are more people dying from everything in the United States because there are more than 3x more people that live in the United States

#12 to #10 - newall (12/13/2012) [-]
i think that's the joke.

i suspect it's a reference to when people say "guns kill people."
#45 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
the really funny fact is that the numbers are similar for gun violence and lack of health insurance. americans lose their **** over 3000 people killed on 9/11 when there are tens of thousands of people dying from easily curable diseases each year...
User avatar #47 to #45 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
you're right why should we be upset over thousands of people dying in a terrorist attack, how silly of us. if we really want people to stop being dead we should outlaw cars and guns (against our constitution but we'll figure it out) and cure cancer and AIDS while we're at it because nobody has even tried to figure those things out yet. There is absolutely no reason our country can't be 100% perfect like yours.

sorry I'm having a bad day and I don't see why a post like this has so many thumbs I'm just mad
#52 to #47 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
the constitution allows you to bear ARMS, not guns. if you wanna stick to the constitution, you should be allowed to have a tank in your garage and rich people could buy nuclear submarines and stealth bombers& **** . what could possibly go wrong?
the constitution is a good start but you shouldn't treat it as infallible. the fact of the matter is that if you had better gun regulation, more americans would still be alive even if 9/11 happened every year.
also, nice red herring pretending that i was talking about aids and cancer. there are tens of thousands of people in your country suffering and dying not because their disease is incurable but because your country fails at taking care of them.
User avatar #54 to #52 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
we can't change the constitution because it specifically says "don't change this **** it works" and it has for 200 years. We are working on changing the health care thing right now with Obamacare but everybody is bitching about it because they have to pay for it because our government which we have very little control over needs money because they keep spending it on god knows what at this point so we can't really afford to do free healthcare like Canada but we are trying. So that I don't put more words in your mouth what loophole would you like us to find with the right to bear arms because giving everyone a ******* sword isn't going to do us much good
#56 to #54 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
oh and as for the money. your military budget is almost as big as that of the rest of the world combined. think about it. if the rest of the ******* world tried to attack you, you could still match them dollar for dollar. if you took half of the money and put it into health care, you would have 1000$ per year for every american and still would spend three times more money on weapons than china.
User avatar #59 to #56 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
that's a great idea and I'm not as mad anymore because I don't stay mad for long, I wish people would listen to reasoning like this but as you said corruption is legal in american, not really but we have found ways to get away with it and the only people who have the power to stop it are profiting from it so why would they. either way my life isn't so bad and I'd rather live here than africa or south america or north korea but it still bugs me when people get mad at us because of the way our country is run. Even if I became president I wouldn't be able to change very much so I should just live my life and die by way of gun, car, or common cold
#55 to #54 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
frankly, i don't give a **** about HOW you intend to change the constitution because it will never happen anyway as long as corruption is legal in the US. from what I know, you could technically pass an amendment that specifies or refutes the second amendment but again, irrelevant, don't care.
User avatar #57 to #55 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
if you don't care then why are you complaining about it or giving us **** about it or whatever you want to call it. Yeah our government is corrupt, we're running out of money, we're selfish capitalists, a lot of us are fat, we drink milk out of cartons, we have a lot of people so lots of them die, and someone from wherever you are complaining isn't going to fix any of it, me complaining isn't going to fix any of it. so why complain?
#58 to #57 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
who said i'm complaining? maybe i just enjoy trolling americans. or maybe i believe that the more you realize that your country is not as great as fox news tells you, the higher the chance that you listen to people like lawrence lessig and the young turks and start doing something about it.
User avatar #60 to #58 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
I listen and I usually agree but what am I, a single person who can't even vote, supposed to change. 99% of other americans are too stupid to listen or too stubborn to care and I don't feel like moving to another country so I guess successful troll is successful and I thank you for a good debate and moderate sportsmanship. it's been a while since I had a good argument with someone who isn't a complete and total ********** **** for brains, I came up with that because that's how we do it in america
#61 to #60 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
here is the thing: you are not powerless against the government. look at ******* occupy. even though the mass media misrepresented them, they still got lots of people to think about what is happening. there are ways to break this **** down and get money out of politics, google 'wolfpak' for example. **** , even if you post a link on facebook, you already did something good that might help.
and it's not like this does not affect the rest of the world. if your country goes to **** , it'll drag us down too. especially if the next prez is a retard like bush and starts a nuclear war by accident or some **** like that. we've got enough problems as it is: oil peak, global warming, islamic fundies, you name it. the world cannot really afford its most powerful country being ruled by greedy selfish retards for much longer.
User avatar #62 to #61 - herpaderpasaur (12/13/2012) [-]
it seems like we're expected to do that on our own and we help with governments all over the world but when ours needs help the countries that want to help can't and the ones that can won't, things may no change in my lifetime so unless I get into politics I just try to stick up for my country on the internet and have an occasional discussion about what should be drastically changed tomorrow to make things suck less
#63 to #62 - underaserpentsun (12/13/2012) [-]
what do you expect us to do, invade? and as for the 'help' you were offering, it usually came in the form of bombs and made things worse, not better. but hey. sorry son, you have to figure out your internal politics on yourself.
and it's not like you have to join the talking heads to change something. jst spreading the word that change is possible is a good start.
