If you got that it'd still ruin the average man.
World peace means there would be no war - no war means no soldiers and weapons- without soldiers and weapons there are no jobs in infantry and no jobs in military engineering.
Scientific advancement beyond our time would **** up the economy, scientific advancement would lead to improved life expectancy meaning there would be more people living to over 100 years old, with people being that old they're not as productive in a job so they're just sitting there getting pensions, therefore a rise in tax.

I agree with the BLT, that would be nice.

Tl;Dr: If we got everything then there would be nothing to look forward to/ fight for. I also want a BLT.

> World Peace - Global government.
> Scientific advancement - Colonization and advancement into space.
> Uploading human consciousness into machines or new bodies, making us perfect beings.
> Humans now have superpower brains, can do a **** load of stuff. Build in motivation to our robotic brains, that keep us from being total lazy assholes.
> Who would be total lazy assholes anyway. All the knowledge and power you could ever hope for is at the tips of your fingers if you just start reaching.
> Colonize space, continue scientific development and expansion of humanity.
> Global and interstellar government with unthinkably advanced technology
> ******************.jpg?
> Every human lives in perfect bliss and happiness their entire lives, until the day they decide they want to die - not the day their lives are taken from them.
> Meet aliens, establish interspecies governments, integrate.
> Come in Mass Effect.
> Reapers come - aren't a threat, the **** were they thinking, we're Gods at this point.
> Meet less intelligent alien race about to go into space, go down to planet
> Open alien president's door
> Get on the floor - Everybody do the dinosaur.

Idaknow, seems like it's perfection to me. I've always been an advocate of a future monetariless society. After science advances enough, money will be virtually useless. Motivation will be self-driven and if it's not it won't matter that much. Resources will be virtually unlimited, and humans will be Gods. Don't be such a Debbie downer.

I wasn't saying there weren't any benefits of it, It would be nice to be able to explore space n ****. I was just pointing out how it would **** things up to start with before we adapted to it.

Even with Scientific Advancement space travel would be pretty pointless, unless we were to terraform the moon or Mars. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, if we did manage to conquer that barrier, the nearest planet with the possibility of having life is Gliese 581 C that is around 20.5 light-years away, therefore we'd have to find someone willing to spend 20.5 years in a spaceship. There would also be the need to supply food, water and oxygen to them for that long.

It'd be quite unlikely for a Global Government, even with world peace, people would still want their freedom and a local government to meet their needs. Take the UK for example, Although its done a good job so far, some Scottish people still feel that the British Government (Being located in London) puts London and England first. If there was a Global Government, having to deliver to all 196 countries, its likely less developed countries would just be ignored.

Except everyone in the USA makes a big ******* deal over every little thing that doesn't even involve us. The media needs to find **** to talk about, and all the conflicts everywhere in the world are pretty good stuff. Because all the good news in the world isn't near as entertaining. ******* annoying, I tell you what man.

< MFW I hear the same story 20 times on 3 different news stations about car bombings in Syria.

I get whatever I want.
But I have to work my ass off for it, usually it ends up with me getting guilt tripped into doing it, I always do what my parents ask, I may bitch about it for like 1 hour, but I always do as I'm told.

so what's the lesson, if you do whatever you want, when you want, how you want it, you end up a happy person?

... but though you may be happy, you may not be the person you wanted to be.
(e.g. eating cake all the time and then being sad that you're fat.)
but w/e.

More like, always have something to work for like a goal or something.

My little brother's ambition is to play Xbox all day long.
And that's all he does. Every day. Maybe he's happy. Who knows?

I do not agree with this. I can honestly say my parents sort of spoil me, in a way, they give me what ever I want. But it hasn't ruined me in any way. Because my parents spoil me, I want to pay them back for all the stuff they've given me and get a job so they can stop spending so much on me.

You act (or desire to act) to pay someone back. It's the concept of being GIVEN everything, in all it entirety, an overindulgence in amusement and pleasure can easily destroy a human heart and ambition.

you're not spoiled.
yeah you get what you want maybe most of the time, but you recognize what it takes to give it. and you WILL pay it forward/back right?
right.
<and then this for no reason.
