How does it not make it French?
La is the feminine definite article in French, so I put it in front of "girl"(though I now see maybe you meant it was for "visage").
I learn French in school, but I can't speak it that well ;_;

It doesn't make because it doesn't make it french? First of all, you wouldn't say girl in front of face, face is masculine so it would be Le and not La as in Le visage de la fille.
you learn french in school? that's cool :) my source however is speaking it since birth. What level of French are you learning? High School, Uni? I'm interested, no sarcasm

just saying, you actually need to put face before girl in french, no biggie :) and girl would be fille, in which case La would work, but no matter how you would put it, like the girls reaction or the girls face or the girls look, girl would always be the 2nd word.
