Most definitely OC, happy to share with you guys

About 4 days ago, my mother went over to talk to
our new neighbours across the hall from us, and
after a long chat had found out that their family
of t had been struggling for food and money.
Their fridge was hare, and they had very few
clothes. That night my mother went to the store
and bought them food for the next few days. Once
she had gotten home, she got on the phone with
her sister (my aunt) and they decided that they
were going to help them out. The next day they
went out shopping for our neighbours. When
they came hack they had a coat, two sweaters, two
jackets, two toques( welcome to Canada), two sets
of boots, two shirts, two pairs of snowpants, and a
book. We haven' t given them to the family yet,
but we are tomorrow. I just wanted to say don' t
give up guys, there' s still hope in this world.
Very proudly, kwizzy

You are brilliant, and I love you, but every time I see Canada mentioned, I have to post this.

Pride is a sin.
Just saying.
You can do good, you don't have to gloat and "whore for thumbs" by your family's actions.
Blah blah blah probably not even a true story.

Today, my family and I were kicked out of my house. Our renter switched on us and after a month with the new owner and paying $1300 he started the eviction process saying that we haven't payed anything for the past two months. He sent a letter telling us to show up at court which somehow never came, so eviction started. Two days before we payed $700 some guy we never heard of showed up and said we had two days to get out of his house. This morning my family gathered in the car with our clothes, a handful of our possessions, and $12. We planned on staying the night in our car at a local park. A police officer showed up because my father wouldn't leave and kept pleading for them to just let us have one more night and saw how much we were in trouble. He took us to the gas station, filled up our tank, and then took us to a hotel. He payed for a two bedroom suite, and that is where we will be staying for the next week. I'm only able to type all this because on the way up to our room, the receptionist gave us free wifi for the week. Never have me or my family been treated as nicely as when we reached our lowest point in life.

I dont know....they should have spoken with them first. Some people are too proud to take charity and they may get insulted.

And to all people moaning about how he shoudnt talk about it and post on internet....What does he get from it? It not like he know any of us or that he gave full name. He is proud of what his mother did and he has right to be proud

why don't they get a job, i would be embarrassed if my neighbor gave me a handout, every time you see them you get a pity look.

Maybe they're trying but they can't? And since they have kids then at least one of them has to stay home.

Since when did the internet become about people boasting what they've done to help poor people?
User avatar #49 to #47 - kwizzy (12/10/2012) [-]
It's not boasting, I simply wanted to share. I could care less about thumbs.

When I feel like **** and there isn't anything to look forward to I go to the walmart and buy deodorant, nail clippers, soap, shampoo, scissors (for hair), and a bunch of groceries.
Put it all in a backpack and give it to a homeless person (not a panhandler).
It only costs ~$120 bucks.

The best way to feel better about yourself is to think about someone else.

The way I figure it, if you give them money you just enable any addiction they might have.
By giving them something with a positive outcome, you give them the tools they might use to better their life.

Although this is a great thing You should do good deeds because its right not so you can post about it on a website.
User avatar #74 to #72 - kwizzy (12/10/2012) [-]
A lot of people have said this, so I will repeat to you what I've said to others. I posted this only with the hopes of sharing my story with others. The thumbs on this post don't count for anything IMO. But in spirit of the "giving holidays" I thought I would also help to try and inspire others. If you check, some have said it has.

This is what this time of the year is all about. It's about giving. Christmas is started to die. Think about it. What's the first thing people say to each other the day after Christmas? "What did you get for Christmas?" That's stupid to think of it that way. It should be "What did you GIVE for Christmas?" Kudos to you bro. **** what the rest of the people say. Funnyjunk turns into "Gorejunk", "Titsjunk", "Ponyjunk", "Feeljunk", but when people post this they say "it's not funny, it shouldn't be posted". But a few days ago there was a post a few spots from #1 of Andre Johnson giving kids a $19,000 shopping spree and everyone was on his sack. Make up your mind Funnyjunkers.

Why am I not surprised this happened in Canada? You'd never see this **** happen in detroit.

You didn't need to mention that you live in Canada.

It was him explaining where 'toques' are from. I sure as hell didn't know. It's not like he put 'oh BTW I'm Canadian' at the bottom.
