My old man decided to not be a dick towards Jehova's witnesses. 9 years later he's still getting the watchtower every month. I've learned from my ancestors to duck and cover when the men with white shirts and blue backpacks knock on my door.

It's happened to me about two or three times, but I just say "No thanks" and they say "OK have a nice day" and leave. I'd rather them come to my door than those phone company salesmen who are so darn persistent and won't take no for an answer.

Never to mine, but when I visit my sister, it seems like every fucking time I'm there, Jehovah's Witness come and ring the doorbell, and because she's disgustingly religious, she always lets them in and decides to read the bible with them and talk scripture. and when I say "talk scripture" I mean, the whole conversation is nothing but bible quotes. Nothing improvised or original, just quote after quote. and then she gets mad and calls me rude when i try to leave the room. So, it's been about a year and half since I've visited her house.

not believing EVERYTHING that made it into the bible does not mean one does not believe in god. you can question the bible that was written & edited by man, rewritten & translated many times over. ever heard of the term "lost in translation"? that is not denying the existence of God, whom i do believe in by the way, it's breaking free of the stranglehold that religion has on many people's minds. (i use the word religion as i was talking about all religions in general)

as I look them in the eye and say "I don't believe in god" I don' think I can make it much more clear than that

that's why they keep returning, it's part of their faith that the way they will make it into "heaven" is by turning as many people as they can to the path of god

They have "Do not call" lists, tell them to put you on it and they shouldn't visit anymore. If they do, I don't think those are Jehovah's Witnesses.

It's just what they call the list of people to not visit. Stupid, I know. Next time you see em, just ask them if there's some sort of list they can put your house/apartment on to make them avoid you.
