The only way to do tuning right is to not do it at all.
#126 to #11 - friedgreenpomatoes (12/08/2012) [-]
I'm sorry, did you say something?
#38 to #11 - N. Korean citizen (12/08/2012) [-]
Whatever you guys say, this man is right. You can only ruin a car by tuning it. Sure you get straight line speed, right up until the moment you break your crankshaft / transmission / ruin your engine / get overheating problems / get gripping problems *9 years of explanation later* and ofcourse you ruin the looks of your car. A real gearhead buys a powerful call, a wigger tunes his car. Oh and FYI STi / AMG / M etc. are not tuning companies, they are part of Subaru / Mercedes / BMW etc.
Sorry for the long story, but these are simple facts.
#87 to #38 - angryhyena (12/08/2012) [-]
Wuuuuuut, tell all the autocrossers out there the same thing. Modifying and tuning are completely different things. You have no idea how vehicles work do you? A real gear-head works on his car anon, some people don't have the luxury to afford a 65K M3 or Vette.
User avatar #42 to #38 - jojonaaazz (12/08/2012) [-]
Well they are tuning companies, but I understand why you think that's not the case.
What about these: Brabus, Alpina, Cobra,...?
#74 to #42 - lolothundah (12/08/2012) [-]
I'm not sure if it's brabus or alpina that mods Mercedes to monster level while still maintaining the classy look.
User avatar #76 to #74 - jojonaaazz (12/08/2012) [-]
Brabus mods mercedes, and alpina mods bmw.
Alpina is definitely more classy than brabus. Brabus is just brutal.

Best engine ever. Period. :D
#46 to #45 - driverist (12/08/2012) [-]
The engine is awesome, not the best ever though and I don't like most of the cars it was put into... (FWD, Really ?)
User avatar #49 to #46 - foxxywithpaws (12/08/2012) [-]
There's nothing wrong with front-wheel drive if you know what you're doing... but I do prefer the pre-FIAT Alfa Romeo's.
#50 to #49 - driverist (12/08/2012) [-]
Yeah but the Alfas were a bit overpowered at the time with the 3.2.

GTV6 and Giulia Sprint 1600 GTA ftw.
#51 to #50 - foxxywithpaws (12/08/2012) [-]
I don't care that it's a FIAT-era Alfa.
I don't care that it has FWD.
I don't care that it doesn't have a front differential.
I don't care that it has 250bhp absolutely raping the front axle.
I don't care that it will fuck up your tires within a lap.
I don't care that it will fall apart within 3 years.

I want an Alfa Romeo 147 3.2 V6 24V GTA.
User avatar #96 to #93 - foxxywithpaws (12/08/2012) [-]
That means you like it, no?

I get the appeal.

I'll just stick with a Civic Type-R from the same era.
#53 to #52 - foxxywithpaws (12/08/2012) [-]
I thought I loved you, but it was all a lie...
#54 to #53 - driverist (12/08/2012) [-]
we don't have access to all the cool hot hatches from Europe over here in Canada. No Mégane RS, No Focus RS, No 147 GTA, no Civic Type-R, no Vauxhall/Opel Astra VXR, nothing...

So I'll have to do with the closest I could find : 2002 Civic Si/SiR based on the european hatchback.
User avatar #55 to #54 - foxxywithpaws (12/08/2012) [-]
Well in that case you have my sympathy. Next year I'm gonna look for a Golf Mk1 1.5 or GTI, depending on my budget. They're the coolest Hot Hatches ever.
Audi technology and Italian design, it's the perfect car. :3
#29 to #20 - midgets (12/08/2012) [-]
Yeah that's another thing. Meanwhile in the average world; 18 year olds doing the paint job themselves and attaching body kits and exhaust pots that don't even fit and installing speakers with tacky speaker covers, driving with the windows down "blasting" lil wayne.
#24 to #20 - DrGordon (12/08/2012) [-]
I didn't quite catch that either.
