You can configure it
Windows 7: Windows + R -> taskschd.msc -> and then search Java Update Scheduler -> Properties -> Trigger

Just be sure the java your browser is using is the newest update, due to some security problem

Just uninstall your current java and download a previous version it should fix it.

Thank you good sir, unfortunately I can't find the latest patcher so my texture pack is a little messy. So what's the problem with your Minecraft? Is it just Java that doesn't support your Minecraft?

Yeah, I downloaded the update from Java's site and it told me i should delete the old java files on my computer. I tried to do that, but an update for the old version wouldn't delete. (minecraft already wasn't working at this point) i finally found a program that removed it after hours of searching, and to my dismay minecraft still wouldnt run. I've uninstalled both minecraft and java multiple times but i always get the same error message about java refering to a nonexistent runtime. It's pretty upsetting.

At the moment I have both Java 6 and Java 7 installed, which seems to work out for me, since my Minecraft stopped working when I installed Java 7, I just backtracked and found the Java 6 installation too and that fixed my problem.
