Sometimes I think that humans are not only intelligent by ourselves, but that we are capable of bringing out the best of the species we interact with. In human's existence, the crow has increased their intelligence exponentially (to the point they actually have verbal language with different regional dialects), we've taught primates speech, one learned to walk on two feet like us, we've domesticated animals and taught them language as well. I love humanity, we can accomplish so much.

That's sentience, isn't it? It can understand abstract concepts and can relate otherwise unrelated things. I heard from somewhere that it actually painted a picture of a heard (badly, of course), so it can express its feelings and emotions.
