"5 drinks" is an incredibly vague statement. What like, 5 shots of shitty vodka? 5 beers? Is this for the whole night? Did they start drinking at 6? When did they stop?

if you've taken any college alcohol education program they give you fluid ounce quantities of what a drink is depending on what type of alcohol you're drinking, wine/beer/liquor

The meaning of five drinks changes depending on the percentage of alcohol in it. So it's usually around the same.

but "drink" is still an undefined term. Lets say you have one glass with 8 fl oz of uncut vodka at 35% alcohol and one glass that has 4 fl oz of everclear. 5 drinks of one the same as five of the other. Furthermore (lol, furthermore), what you begin drinking at 5pm and dont stop until 3 am? Is it still binge drinking if you have five drinks? What if you do all five at once and dont drink for the rest of the day?

The percentage of alcohol is relative to the amount of drinks. 0.6 ounces of pure alcohol is considered one drink. 1.5 fluid ounces of vodka, rum, whiskey, etc., five of wine, or twelve of beer is each considered by the standard one drink. In order for it to be binge, you'd have to have it over a short period of time. And as long as you have the five drinks, I don't see how friends influence it.

5 drinks based on what volume per drink? And what intensity of alcohol changes the volume desired to be considered one drink? I'm sure it's hardly considered binge drinking if a friend drinks 5, 16 fl oz Smirnoff ices compared to another's 5, 40 fl oz steel reserves. Come on, SPECIFY!!!!

6 isn't a lot but then again it depends on what you're drinking. Personally i'm a vodka fan i'll usually do 6-8. I could do more but I don't enjoy not remembering the fun i've had.

Maybe it's because I'm in my college drinking prime, but 6 drinks is just whatever to me. Slap that binge drinker label on me haha.
