Why doesnt he paint something that looks real like that but doesnt actually exist. Like a mythical creature or stargate or something lol
A lot of artists are only limited to very certain and constrained forms of drawing and painting, I certainly bet the man's tried to go out of his zone and do things from mythical genre's, but sometimes artists simply cannot do it. I find that to be a very hard concept to grasp, but I've seen it happen so many times, and it's easier to say that they should be able to do it based on what they're good at, but they just mentally can't perform it as they could with their safety zones in art, as they've never spent as much time in that genre as they did in what they're best at.

Yeah I know what you're saying, I have a friend of mine who's a good artist, not great, but he's good enough to deserve compliments, he can really stretch out abstractness in his art and still keep it within realms of reality if you get what I'm saying, all of it comes from his imagination and he never needs a reference. Then there's his aunt, who is such a better artist than him in certain ways, she can re-draw a picture, she re-drew the one I posted here, and it was absolutely wonderful, perfect in every way, but the problem is, she needs a reference to ever make a work of art, she can't tap into her imagination and put it on paper as good as she can with something already given, that's where my friend beats her by nine square miles. that' where I'm basing what I'm saying with Campos. But I would still like to see him try doing something from fantasy. Sorry if I'm wasting your time by making you read all of this friend, it's not necessary but I just had to post it cos' of my retardedness.
