On a bolt action rifle?

Some guns have spring releases in there. My dad's .22 rifle does that. You pull this little slider back, and click a button and the thing slams froward replacing the bullet. It's semi-auto. It holds like 20 bullets it it. Every time You shoot the bullet flys out. then the next is slammed in it with the spring. But it might just be a semi-auto gun type thing.

Slide action, Never heard that before. But it makes since. And also this gun I'm talking about has no clip. But a secondary barrel under the first that holds the bullets. It's one of my favorite guns to shoot just because it's semi. Even though it would not cause much damage to anything. but My dad's .270 on the other hand. That's what we stock up on ammo, never know when that zombie attack may come. And We have about 6 12 gauges with buck, bird, and slugs. We are prepared.

i see now i believe we can come to an understanding,because i can relate but see i have a marlin model60 semi auto scout 22.LR,an ar15 m4 config. with picatinny quad rail .223 upper and retractable bipod and of course the mossberg chainsaw with a bolt buster muzzle break,and a sig 1911,and armor peircing rounds for the .223 buck,bird,bolo,flechette,and 4 rounds of civilian grade dragons breath rounds,and of course hollow point 45 acp,and a molle compatible combat vest with enough pouch space to fit 10 30 round ar mags and 8 1911 mags,and my vest bladder.

bridshot wouldn't do shit to a zombie. buckshot and slugs will though. you're better off with a rifle though.

Bird shot would be best for living targets. Or for getting birds for food. And I live way up on a mountain in TN. I can get on my roof with ease. So I could stake up there with My .270 rifle. But I'm looking into getting a m14 and making it fully auto. And I think we would do good, Because I'm the electrical nerd that can do anything with electronics/carpenter My mom has been doing nursing for 20 years. my sis has done a little. And My dad is a good hunter. So I think My family we'll do just fine. Or some completly random bullshit can happen like getting hit with a satellite or some stupid thing like that, Knowing my luck. I'll get killed by the random shit.

bird shot is good for birds and small game (rabbits, foxes, squirrels, ect). try taking out a deer or bear with only bird shot and see what happens.

Dude, I didn't mean I was going to shoot large targets with birdshot. I meant living humans not zombies. And secondly I shot a bear with a 12 gauge slug, twice. And the fucker ran away. If I shot I bear with bird shot it would eat My face. I could not imagine how pissed a bear would be.

it would also depend on the range. placement doesn't mean shit when there's a 30% chance of hitting it anyways

never say placement doesn't matter a well placed shot is better than a million ill-placed shots

well i wouldn't exactly take my shotty into a situation where long-range fire would be acceptable i do have a ar15 with a .223 upper perfect for long range engagements or maybe even my m91/30 mosin nagant

the point is that you wouldn''t expect it.

if you are to the point of being forced into longe range combat i suggest just staying low until they get into range and by the way 200 yards is a distance no shot shell or slug could reach accurately

exactly my point. i suck with shotguns anyways, i'll take my muzzleloader over a shotgun during shotgun season (in my state you can use bows, shotguns and muzzleloaders during deer season)

bird shot would tear a zombie a new asshole bro buck shot of course has better close range patterns but bird shot has enough power to go through a car door at 30 yards while still maintaining a tight enough pattern to be called "highly accurate shotgun rounds".

long story short, bird shot is not the best thing touse for zombies. if the zombie is half an inch from the end of the barrel, then even just the force of a blank can kill it ( it expands so rapidly that it can break your skull)

i have tested several rounds of birdshot on ballistic dummies and every shot i fired at 30 yards with high brass shells have been fatal

the problem with ballistic dummies is that they replicate the density of human flesh, but not the force it takes to pierce it. poke yourself, did your finger go through? now poke ballistic gel, can your finger pierce it? probably

Dude. That would be helpful. My dad is buying bullets out the ass. And only for the same type gun, so we don't get a bullet that won't fit. He is more afraid of a attack on the united states, But whatever the reason it helps to have lots of ammo. And as I said in another comment on this thread. I'm excellent with electronics. I have so much scrap parts lying around. I could make robots with guns attached to them. That would only shoot zombies because zombies could not be as hot as a normal human. Meaning I could program it with a heat sensor.

don't even try that i would destroy it because that thing could send off stray shots that could possibly ricochet and hit a fellow survivor i would rather you goto a nearby shooting range and practice your shots

I'm a very good shot. And the robot would be best for when Everyone sleeps. Or some shit like that. As I said heat sensors. It could not fire off stray shots. It would be dead on accurate. And only fire upon cold moving targets. Or just have an alarm set up. There Is a lot of uses of someone with a skill set like mine.

I like that idea better. I would not have to spend days soldering and programming a robot. those components could be used for better stuff. Such as medical equipment. And Your idea would be better anyway it is easier, And the less complex something is the less chance for failure.

thats my opinion and i stated it simply because ive fired countless .22 cal rounds down range and just don't like them therefore they suck,in my eyes anyways.

.22 is an excellent cartridge, they are cheap and make a great target chamber, a pistol chambered in .22 will fire further and more accurately than say a .45. .22 may lack a lot of power but will still kill with well placed shots.

.22 is great, you just have bad shot placement, although its not a heavy combat round.
There is no such thing as a "slide action", you probably mean "gas operated semi automatic" or "semi automatic blowback".
