100' is the terminal velocity, as in the top speed a certain item will reach when dropped from a indefinite height (regardless of damage)... not the speed at which a certain item will break....

i know what terminal velocity is, but i think they dropped it from 1300 just so show a point. btw if you can survive a fall from the top of the empire state building, you should theoreticly survive a fall from the top the breathable atmosphere. theoreticly only, you would most likely be a pancake after falling from the empire state building, and then be even flatter after falling out of an airplane that high. But surviving a fall from the empire state building would be equal to surviving a fall from any height higher

ipads weigh about 1.5 lbs so im guessing its terminal velocity is around 70 mph... from 1300 feet im guessing a complete break would be the outcome

have to factor in the kinetic energy absorption of the case think about it if we can make a material that can disperse the kinetic energy of a bullet to keep you safe (keep in mind the bullet travels supersonic) then i think we can make a materiel that can disperse a kinetic impact of 1.5lbs at 70mph
