Honestly I would not put mlp on my magazine's cover at any point. Society would not understand and it would have a low profit.

Like they'd have put MLP on the cover even if it won by a landslide.
Not that there is anything wrong with it, it's just that it's a show made for kids, it's not accepted as a show for adults in most circles.
I would get laughed out of my family for watching it, which is lucky, because I've watched the first 3 episodes and didn't like it.
I've never heard of Brits watching though, and I'm Scottish.

''it's just that it's a show made for kids, it's not accepted as a show for adults in most circles.''

... and you are implying that Doctor Who is otherwise?

I'm Scottish also, and I loved Doctor Who when I was a kid. I'd say it's on roughly the same grounds as MLP: a show targeted towards kids but where adults can also enjoy.

Doctor Who isn't a children's show, there were complaints and people tried to have it banned in the 80s because it was on TV early enough for children to watch, and it was scary.
It's popular amongst children now, and I'd say that Matt Smith definitely seems to be better geared towards children (his constant enthusiasm), but the shows not aimed towards children.
On the other hand, My Little Pony, is aimed not just at children, but at little girls, and I don't think it has the same likeability amongst adults.
It has a big fan-base online, but I really don't see that fan-base lasting too long.

I don't see Doctor Who as lasting very long. It's gone downhill considerably. The fanbase are also generally annoying ***** who act as though Doctor Who is some big new TV show or something, despite the latest incarnation being out for almost several years now. Once the fanbase actually catch up with watching all the episodes, it will most likely disapear.

Dr Who has already lasted almost 60 years (1963), Friendship is Magic started in 2010.
Whether Dr Who is considered a dying show or not, my opinion is that it'll last out MLP.
Maybe not the MLP brand, because little girls will always love that.

I disagree. Both shows will continue to create episodes so long as there is a large enough fanbase who will watch it, and both fanbases will continue to exist so long as they keep creating more episodes. There is no sign of either show or fanbase grinding to a halt anytime soon but Doctor Who has gone on for so long now that I don't see it as being sustainable. It is getting stale. My Little Pony on the other hand is still a young show and it has plenty of space to grow. Additionally, it is easily marketable. In all my time I have seen very little Doctor Who merchandise and cannot imagine how it is in anyway feasably marketable beyond the selling of DVDs.

If you have a political poll on a liberal website, the poll is always going to be in favor of the liberal option.
The only reason MLP would ever be on the top is if it was linked in forums more.
Because I honestly believe if all of America had a vote, neither Dr. Who or MLP would win.

It has probably been said already at some point, but I didn't go through the comments.
The reason MLP was not put on the cover is simple. MLP is generally not accepted as a show that is not exclusively for kids, ergo a magazine telling you to buy a kids' TV show would not be taken seriously and no one would buy it. Note, that is not my opinion, I personally truly don't care.
Besides, why all the *********? TV is a dying breed of technology anyway. You bronies watch MLP on the Internetz, right? Well why the **** care about some magazine for TV anyway? It's not like winning the contest will attract any new fans

Yeah it's true, even if MLP won by 10,000 votes they would never put it on front page of a tv magizine because as you said, it's not generally accepted for guys to watch MLP. I don't really understand what the fuss is :P

The fuss is that the majority of people are close-minded, lolzy.
If we could make people more open-minded now, we could give people a better future. Homosexuality is now being accepted. ******* disgusting that it's still not fully accepted and it's taken this long for them to get the right to marry, but still, we're getting somewhere.

They simply should not have put MLP up there as a choice.
