This was a great , interesting post up until you ****** it up by bringing in religion. Stupid, immature people think that the two are mutually exclusive and need to bash each other. That's not how human progress works.

That's because religion is based on dogmas. It doesn´t make progress and it's not made to be changed as discoveries are made. AKA The point of religion is to prevail and not change

If you think religion follows the same method as science, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about

>Religions spend several hundreds of years murdering scientists for questioning them
>complain about being persecuted

Really not trying to start a ********* , I just find this a bit funny.

how about this OP? if you're going to make a religious joke, make one that we can laugh along with (such things do exist). i know some of you ('sup noble) say 'we can make black jokes, but when it comes to religion, everyone gets butthurt'. the thing is, making these religious jokes are the equivalent of saying that ' ******* aren't human those KFC eating bootlipped retards'. that's not a joke, that's in insult. shut up, let us have our beliefs, and we'll let you have yours

DURR HURR RELIGION SUCKS SCIENCE RULES!!!11!!

Get the **** over yourself if you actually cared about learning you'd realize that science has questions it can't answer, and religion can be used to fill in the gap. It's not ******* blind faith... many highly intelligent and prominent atheists have converted to being theists because of something called the Anthropic principle, as well as many other factors. Being a ******* bigot never solves anything

Jesus Christ, this is going to take a while.
No. Just, no.
"Hey Scientist 2, you know how our whole mission as scientists is to discover how the world works?"
"Yeah Scientist 1!"
"And you know how we haven't discovered everything there is to be discovered yet, even though we make new discoveries every day?"
"Yeah!"
"That must mean everything we haven't found yet absolutely must be god!"

This, surprisingly, isn't how science works. Science will always have questions, but will never fill in the gaps with god. That'd defeat the purpose of science. With all the gaps filled in, there'd be no more answers to search for. Progress would** stop**.

You will never hear a scientist say, "god did it" in his particular field of study. His job is to find out what did it if god didn't.

I don't see why you would go out of your way to offend someone.

There are plenty of legitimately helpful things that churches/religions do, but you don't hear about it because it is overshadowed by the crazy fanatics.
