That just seems pointless when there's a dubbed version.
Dubbed is like, a step up on the scale from subbed.

I have to disagree with you, So much is lost in americanized translation from subbed to dubbed, you lose many anime's gusto. Naruto is a prime example, in the subbed/raw he never had an annoying catchphrase like believe it, and was quite a bit more mature.

That's just poor dubbing then.

no, most English dubs dumb down the language, remove most maturity, and sometimes change entire scripts of dialogue for translation differences in context.I'm not a dubbed hater, and agree there are some animes which dubbed is far better. but many, and in my opinion most animes are better subbed

yeah in naruto episode 27 there is all this talk of people dying. in the dub it is replaced with talk of rivalry and the word die isn't mentioned

Well when I start a new anime I watch the dubbed episodes first, then when I run out of those I watch the subbed.

I was actually watching Naruto dubbed today, I really hate the English dub, but I like to just lay in my bed and relax when watching Anime and I don't like to have to read subtitles.

The dubs aren't that bad for shows such as Air Gear or FMA

I don't get this whole "only losers watched dubbed" thing that some anime fans go on about yes in the past there has been some really bad dubbing done (One Piece) but there are also a lot of good voice actors out there who are perfecting there style to suit anime and are doing some really good work (Black Lagoon). I like to watch both dubbed and subbed outtakes of an anime and then decide which one I like best and I don't think the snobbery some anime fans have towards dubbed anime is really justified anymore maybe 10 or 20 years ago I might have agreed with you but English voice acting has gotten much better.

some dubs are better than subs (Black Lagoon, Dragonball Z, Cowboy Bebop) . They are voice actors not voice impressionists. They're giving their own take on what that character's voice would sound like not trying to sounds like the japanese version.

Frieza has an awesome voice in the Japanese version. Much better than in the English one. The problem in the English dub (which is most often the case in other dubbed anime too) is the fact that most of the male characters sound pretty much the same. That wanna-be badass, rasp sound just doesn't cut for all the characters. They gave Goku that - Goku, who is docile and gentle by heart. And Krillin, too. The voices fit them in no way. I mean what is up with that? Sure, I used to love the English dub as a kid and I had no other choice since that was all that was aired. But when I got my hands on the original soundrack I was completely changed by heart. Of course there's some nostalgia in the English voices but Japanese voice actors are miles ahead of the English ones professionally speaking. They bring about such unique and interesting voices it's unbelievable. There's no arguing that. Of course what English voice actors lack in voice acting they have an upper hand in movie acting.

TL;DR Japanese voice actors are better in voice acting. Period.

I'm just messing man, but I'd say it's subjective to the person. From what I remember Krillin's voice had a whine to it that made it far from raspy and Goku's voice was only gruff when it was a serious moment at other times his voice was pretty relaxed.

Yea, well you're right about that. I just hate the fact that people say that English dubs are better because they can't be arsed to read subtitles. But I guess that's not really my concern - just irritating.
