That's good and all, until you realize that shooting at someone basically immune to blaster shots doesn't actually do anything but waste shots... and getting your blaster stolen.

Just saying :/, shooting first didn't accomplish anything other than Han losing his blaster...

actually, only vader's hands are immune to blaster shots - if the whole of vader was, he wouldn't raise his hands to deflect them. The point being, Han was quick on the draw and, assuming that he knew vader could deflect the shots with his hands, attempted to shoot him before vader could react.
